Sleep!

Sleep?

It sounds so easy. And when you don’t have a newborn it IS easy! You sleep uninterrupted and wake rested. (Within reason!) With a newborn, while they do sleep up to 18 hours a day, the sleeping is in fits and spurts, with regular 2-4 hourly feeds and day/night confusion. This is not conducive to a restful and complete sleep for an adult.

I say in my classes that there is a reason sleep deprivation is a torture technique- because it has profound impacts on humans ability to function. Sleep deprivation exacerbates risk of mental health complications (like postpartum depression and anxiety), causes irritability, clumsiness, sadness, cognitive function decrease, emotional instability, and physical safety concerns. In response to this known level of exhaustion, parents are advised to nap when baby naps (nearly impossible) and seek support.

We are the support you are looking for!

New Parent Network is here to help YOU. And we will grow and develop every day to ensure that you are getting everything you need.

A few months ago one of my Membership clients was looking for overnight coverage to make sure she could sleep! After reaching out to all of my contacts and finding everyone was booked for the days she needed, I expanded the business that day and brought on experienced nurses for emergency overnight nursing coverage. These are passionate nurses available to cover you and your family so you can get a good night sleep! (and feel confident that your coverage is well qualified to care for your precious family!)
